Learning Objective: Students will shoot an array of images using compositional rules that show their understanding of aperture and shutter. Students will then create a poster explaining their work and displaying their knowledge of the content.
FREEZE ACTION -Take photos outside that capture FREEZE ACTION. Try to “capture the moment”. Shoot at the shutter priority mode (S Mode or TV Mode) and sure you are on auto focus. | |Make sure your shutter speed is above 1/125th of a second. MOTION BLUR -Take action photos trying to capture MOTION BLUR. Try to “capture the moment”. Make sure your shutter speed is 1/30th or below for more blur. You might need to use a tripod to make sure stationary SHALLOW DEPTH OF FIELD When the subject is in focus and the background is blurry You will use a large size aperture (a smaller number) such as f/4 Shoot in "A Mode" or "AV Mode" LONG DEPTH OF FIELD When everything is in the frame is in focus. You will use a small size aperture (a larger number) such as f/22 Shoot in "A Mode" or "AV Mode" PART II: CREATE A VISUAL POSTERDisplay your understanding of aperture and shutter on a poster using Adobe InDesign. Create a document that is 11 x 17 landscape orientation in Adobe InDesign.
Poster must have a cohesive look to its design. Think about color, fonts, and type size. EXAMPLE BELOW: How to find what shutter/aperture you shot your image at.

What you'll be graded on...Learning Objective: Students will demonstrate understanding of compositing together images into a panorama by participating in a demo, analyzing their photo shoot for possible images, and then applying the techniques to their own photos. Didn't take a series of photos to stitch together with the tripod? Download these practice photos from Google Drive here. Note: You will be responsible for eventually doing this technique with your own photos. Milestone Deadline: Friday, April 13th Using your own panorama photo, you will use the polar coordinate filter to wrap your photo into a "tiny planet." Pay special attention to how the edges match up and join! Milestone Deadline: Friday, April 13th |
